tickle torture

this is for anyone who needed to hear little boys' belly laughs today - i know i sure did. love you, my sons!!

my spidey senses are tingling....

....they're telling me this was the best $1.50 ever spent. yesterday, a local elementary school had an indoor yard sale fundraiser. we found the shirt and mask for koa (he's been wearing the mask nonstop), one of those cute little chevron cars and a board book for kawelo (i couldn't resist the chevron car - they're just so cute!), and some summer clothes for kalei (now that she actually cares what clothes she wears, i can't buy years ahead anymore - bummer). i'm hoping that this is marking the beginning of yard sale season!! can't wait - my yard sale senses are definitely tingling!!

the faces of koa

today, our mr. koa is 4 years old! he is such a blessing to have in our family and is so very expressive and inquisitive and loving. we love you, koa!!

weekend celebration... and a little extra excitement

this weekend, josh & kim & co. came down to celebrate koa's & daniel's birthdays! it was a great time and we are so thankful to have family so close!

um... we also had a bit of excitement when i turned on the wrong burner. here's kalei's account of the incident:

but, don't worry - apart from one very charred oven mitt, there was no damage. i like to think the lingering smoke lent a bit of ambience to the birthday celebration. all in all, an action-packed weekend!

age-old problem

kalei said to me today, "koa's always copying me." i told her that it's because he loves her and wants to do what she does... and that it will probably go on for a long time. i wanted to tell her that, eventually, kawelo will do the same thing to koa, but i wasn't sure what message that sent, so i edited that part. ah... siblings!

and it continues...

this is what we woke up to yesterday morning. so, no school yesterday, and no school today since there is a layer of ice underneath the snow. maybe i should do something educational with kalei so that her brain can get some exercise this week!
