kawelo is three months old now. he is happy and balding. i remember kalei's hair mostly fell out, also, but since she's a girl, we just left it and let it grow in and be all different lengths until it was long enough to shape into a bob. what do i do with kawelo's wispies? koa's head was shaved at 10 weeks, so i don't know what to do with a boy in this situation. he's got the full "friar tuck" look going with wispies on top and thicker, longer growth on the sides and back. do i shave him? the chinese shave babies' heads so that the hair will grow in thicker. he could use some of that. some people leave boys' hair alone till they're one and then cut it. i definitely can't let it go that long without action. i am nothing, if not a woman of action! :) and my action is: wait another week or so and see if it's still bugging me. :)

lol!! love the friar tuck bit. i'm having the opposite problem with akela. she has all this friz on top and right around the ear line is short and then some random long pieces hanging around her neck. if it's not slicked down, it's like a funky hat thing. i too have been thinking about buzzing it (!) but will wait until i can stand it no longer. with kalai, i didn't know any better, that i could do something. with sani, she never lost any hair so she had a great hair shape her whole life. is it bad to shave a girl's head?
btw, just from reading your comment on malia's blog, your camera looks pretty good to me! one benefit of a SLR is that you can change the lenses out, giving you more options. what kind of camera do you have now?
i don't think it's bad to shave a girl's head - as long as you keep her permanently in pink. :) even then, you'll still get people who ask "boy or girl?" :) i love akela's curly hair - but it's hard when there's lots of different lengths. we have a sony camera, but it's pretty standard - you can't add or change lenses. it does just fine for now, but someday i would like to upgrade to something with more options. :) -bess
How funny!
