the face of eczema

i just wanted to show why we haven't posted tons of pictures of kawelo this winter. these pictures show the whole range of severity of kawelo's eczema, from very mild to so severe that his skin is raw and swollen and bleeds easily. his face has not been clear since the weather turned cold and dry, despite the creams and ointments we constantly apply. the good news is, since the weather is warming and humidifying, his face is getting gradually clearer. i cannot emphasize this enough: WOOHOO!!!!! so, get ready to see a whole lot more of this adorable face!

i'm glad it's getting better!! maybe you guys just need to move to hawaii where it's warm and humid all year round.

we are thinking the same thing about hawaii - of course, this means that utah's completely out of the question until (hopefully) he grows out of this. :) -bess

Oh man! That is worse than I had imagined. Poor little guy. I really hope that the humidity helps.

Hey, Bess, I asked Aunt Darrow and here are a few suggestions that you can "pray about" in finding a cure: 1. change your laundry soap (get sometime more "pure" for the sensitive skin - ask Jenny what she washes kawika's clothes in) 2. he may be having a reaction to his formula - one of Aunt Darrow's children had to change the formula that their baby drank before the eczama would go away. 3. & 4. (sorry I can't remember what she said - it has been a week, but #1 & 2 stuck in my mind. - and the part she said about praying for the Lord to help you know what can be done to help him.
